tfs215085: error occurred while connecting agent x
tfs215074: failed start build agent on 'x' because build unexpectedly in progress. investigate build agent status determine cause.
i queuing large number of builds of run fine, build fail these messages , agent become unreachable. automatically reset self , become enabled again , builds continue on agent. stay unreachable, if manually change status enabled start processing builds again.
there no tfs messages or other messages in application logs related this. web iis logs webservices give no indication there well.
this team foundation server 2008 sp1 running on both windows server 2008 , windows server 2003. have turned logging on when has failed, there no additional information there well.
any suggestions or hidden switches managing build agent resolve issue appreciated.
this error occurs since there no official synchronization between tfs application tier , build machine(s) other server queue state. instance, if build issued stop command doesn't stop on machine, server (in 2008) mark stopped after timeout period no matter outcome allows next build in queue start. when build attempts start, fail error message above (tf215074) since allowed 1 build run on agent @ given time , constraint has been violated. issue happening often? know how reproduce it?
