asp.net - Sending large amounts of data over webservice using C# -

i've dealt web services, have client report our system , display on site. best way send information on them using web service?

i have 2 ideas, either 1 data transfer that's large, or handle pagination through web services (though wouldn't allow filtering.) i'm open others.

what kind of data it? maybe can provide odata feed? odata api allows url-driven filtering, paging, etc.
