playframework - Play server memory usage -


i have installed play on osx 10.6 , wanted test baseline memory usage. read deployment documentation , noticed running play behind reverse proxy server suggested. have seen when run play run myapp prints hello world this:

initial memory usage when started is: 10345    java   user    0.1 22  71.5 mb intel (64 bit)  after few several thousand hits, grows substantially to: 10345    java   user    0.1 26  123.7 mb    intel (64 bit)    fine , all, creeps 140mb after few thousand more test requests. 

my question targeted @ above amount of memory , if these numbers normal. looking @ amount of java memory playapps.com offers , going findings suggests helloworld app not fit in 64mb base plan.

how can ? there production version of play run myapp doesn't enable development related features ?

have tried running app using -xmx64m switch (set "jvm.memory= -xmx64m" in application.conf). have been doing lot of memory analysis of java recently, , lazy garbage collection. if max memory size not restricted, not fight keep memory size low.

running in prod mode help, not have compiler overhead.

play website run on smallest playapps server, 64mb, , far more complex hello world example give. smallest playapps should fine!
