database - Failed to connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1 in MySQL Workbench. System error 61 -

i'm running little trouble mysql workbench. situation, i'm developing database query remotely android devices. first time use mysql workbench, i've followed tutorial:

i have no problem creating eer diagram , generating sql script. problem comes when try connect mysql server. error:

"failed connect mysql @ 127.0.0.1:3306 user root. lost connection mysql server @ 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 61"

i've tried using local socket/pipe connection method mamp socket in '/applications/mamp/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock', gives same error. , i've tried using mamp port 8889 still nothing.

so knows how fix it? , question, can connect android device laptop(where database placed) without using mamp? mysql needs mamp serve queries? , last thing, going right way? or should other way?

you need sure mysql process running in system. not sure in mac in windows it'called mysqld.exe
